CHILDREN AND FAMILY THERAPY

Family therapy

Helping children feel understood and families feel supported.

What to expect:

When a child is struggling, it can be difficult to know what they need—or how to help. Therapy provides a safe, supportive space where children can express themselves, build healthy coping skills, and learn ways to navigate difficult emotions and experiences.

My approach is compassionate, age-appropriate, and focused on meeting each child and family where they are. I work collaboratively with parents and caregivers to better understand what is happening and create practical strategies that can be used at home.

We may work on:

-Anxiety, worries, and big emotions

-Changes in family or home life

-School-related challenges

-Behavioral concerns

-Self-esteem and confidence

-Coping with stress, grief, or difficult experiences

-Communication and emotional regulation

-Parent-child relationships and family dynamics

Therapy looks different for every child.

Children don’t always have the words to explain how they’re feeling. Depending on their age and needs, therapy may include conversation, activities, creative expression, play, and other age-appropriate approaches.

Parents and caregivers are an important part of the process. When appropriate, we’ll work together to help you understand your child’s needs and feel more confident supporting them outside of therapy.

Family Therapy

Sometimes the best way to support a child is to work with the whole family.

Family therapy can help improve communication, strengthen relationships, work through conflict, and create healthier patterns at home. The goal isn’t to find someone to blame—it’s to help everyone feel heard and work together.
